Das Warten hat ein Ende: heute wurden die Bewertungen zum 09er Bordeaux veröffentlicht. Wie erwartet überschlägt sich Parker fast in Begeisterung, insbesondere für die Left Bank: “… 2009 may turn out to be the finest vintage I have tasted in 32 years of covering Bordeaux; …the peaks of quality in 2009 may turn out to be historic; … I believe the 2009 vintage is at its greatest in the Médoc and Graves.”

Ingesamt 21 Weine hat er zumindest in den Vorhof des 100 Punkte-Olymp gehievt: Eglise Clinet, Haut-Brion, Hosanna, Lafite-Rothschild, Latour, Margaux, La Mission, Cos d´Estournel, Cheval Blanc, Clinet, Trotanoy, Pontet Canet, Léoville Poyferré, Léoville las Cases, Montrose, L´Evangile, Petrus, Pavie, Angelus, Clos l´ Eglise und Bellevue Mondotte.

Für rund 100 Weine beschreibt er 2009 als den größten Jahrgang, der jemals produziert wurde, dabei so klangvolle Namen wie Clinet, Léoville-Poyferré, Cos d´Estournel, Haut-Bailly oder Smith Haut Lafitte. Was diese Begeisterung für die Primeurpreise bedeutet, kann sich jeder ausmalen. Parker:” I´m very pessimistic that we´re going to see reasonable prices for the top-2009s.” Naja, ganz schuldlos ist er daran ja nicht.

Und der Einfluss Asiens auf die 09er Kampagne: “…it will change for the Asians with the 2009s. They are going to buy these wines. The only questions are: How much Bordeaux they will buy beyond the most prestigious firsth growths and super seconds?” Man kann die Frage auch anderes herum formulieren: Was wird für angestammte Märkte in Europa übrig bleiben? Der 2009er wird wohl auch hier einiges verschieben. Die nächsten Wochen bleiben spannend….
